Oats Upma


Ingredients
  • Curry Leaves - 4 or 5
  • Olive Oil - 1 Tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 Tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1/2 Tsp
  • Green Chilies - 2
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Beans - 6
  • Capsicum - 1/4
  • Peas - 2 tsp
  • Rolled Oats - 1 Cup
  • Onion - 1
  • Carrot - 1/2
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tsp

  • 1. Place a pan on medium flame and dry roast oats until they are aromatic.








    2. In another pan, add olive oil and heat it. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Sauté the ingredients well.








    3. Add chopped ginger, green chili (slit), and chopped onion to the pan. Sauté until the onions are translucent.








    4. Add chopped carrot, capsicum, beans, peas, turmeric powder, and salt to taste. Add water and cover the pan with a lid.








    5. Open the lid and add more water as needed. Continue cooking. When it boils, add the dry roasted oats and cover the pan again.








    6. Finally, add coriander leaves, adjust salt if necessary, squeeze in lemon juice, and sprinkle grated coconut.
