Sooji Upma



  

 Ingredients

  • Sooji (semolina) – 1 Cup
  • Onion – 1 big
  • Green Chilies -2
  • Ginger - 1/2 Tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 1tsp
  • Hing (asafoetida)
  • Curry leaves
  • Pinch of haldi (turmeric)
  • Salt (as directed by your dietitian)
  • Water - 1 Cup
  • Ghee Or Olive Oil - 2 Tsp
  • Instruction


  • 1. In a pan, dry roast semolina (sooji) over low to medium flame until it turns light brown, then transfer it into a bowl.

    2. Next, chop onions, green chilies, and ginger.

    3. In a hot pan, add ghee or olive oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, sautéing until you hear a crackling sound.

    4. Add hing, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté for about a minute. Then, add the chopped onions and cook until they become transparent.

    5. Add water and salt as needed. Mix well.

    6. Once the water comes to a boil, add the roasted sooji and keep stirring to avoid lumps.

    7. Cover the pan and cook on a low flame until the water evaporates.

    8. Remove the lid, stir once again, and your healthy sooji upma is ready. Serve it hot and enjoy!

    Ingredients Garlic - 2 Tsp Beans - 1/4 Cup Carrots - 1/4 Cup Onions - 1/4 Cup Broccoli - 1 Cup Bell Peppers - 1 Cup Mushrooms - 1 Cup All Spices - As Per Taste Olive Oil - 2 tsp Instruction: To start, place the pan on a medium flame and add some olive oil. Allow it to heat. Next, add garlic cloves and fry until the raw smell disappears. Now, add carrots, beans, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and broccoli. Add salt, oregano, chili flakes, and black pepper to the vegetables. Continue cooking well.
