Moong Daal Khichdi



Ingredients
  • Brown rice or White rice - 1cup
  • Raw moong dal - 1/2 cup
  • Chopped Onion - 1 small
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Green chillies -2pcs
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt (as directed by your dietitian)
  • Water
  • 1 tsp oil


  • Instruction

  • 1. Rinse Rice and Moong Dal:
    - Rinse rice and moong dal separately under water several times until the water runs clear.
    - Soak rice and moong dal together for 15-20 minutes.


    2. Pressure Cook:
    - Take a pressure cooker, and put rice, moong dal, and water in it.
    - Cover and cook until 3 whistles.


    3. Prepare Aromatic Paste:
    - Meanwhile, prepare a paste of onion, ginger, garlic, and green chilies in a mixer.

    4. Sauté Aromatics:
    - In a saucepan, add 1 tsp oil, cumin seeds, and the prepared paste. Sauté.

    5. Add Turmeric Powder:
    - Add turmeric powder and cook until the turmeric powder loses its raw smell.

    6. Combine Ingredients
    : Add the cooked rice and moong dal. Mix well.








      7. Garnish and Serve:

    - Garnish with coriander leaves.
    - Serve hot with mint chutney or curd.
