Ingredients
1 cup moong dal (split green grams without skin)
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup of water
Salt (as directed by your dietitian)
1. Wash and Soak Moong Dal:
- Begin by washing the moong dal and soaking it in water for about 30 minutes. Drain it after soaking.
2. Pressure Cook:
- Transfer the soaked moong dal to a pressure cooker (3-liter capacity). Add 1 and a half cups of water, a pinch of turmeric powder, and salt. Close the lid and pressure cook it on a medium flame for 2 whistles.
3. Release Pressure:
- Turn off the flame and wait for the pressure to come down naturally. Remove the lid after the pressure has subsided.
4. Garnish:
- Finally, garnish the moong dal with chopped coriander leaves. For extra flavor, you can also sprinkle dry roasted jeera and mustard seeds on top.
5. Serve:
- Your moong dal without tadka is now ready to be served!
