Samak Rice Pulao



Ingredients

  1. Samak rice (barnyard millet): 1 cup(50 gms)
  2. Carrot (chopped): 1 pc
  3. Beans (chopped): 4-5 pcs
  4. Peas: 1/2 cup
  5. Grated ginger: 1/4th tsp
  6. Oil: 1 tsp
  7. Dry fruits of your choice
  8. Coriander leaves (chopped)
  9. Lime juice: 1 tsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Cumin seeds: 1/4th tsp

Instruction

  1. Wash samak rice and soak in water for about 20 mins.
  2. In a pan, add oil, cumin seeds. When the seed crackle, add chopped veggies, grated ginger and some salt. sauté the veggies properly.
  3. Add water and samak rice in it.
  4. Cover the pan and cook for around 8-10 mins in low to medium flame, keep checking.
  5. Add chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice, mix everything well.
  6. Turn off the flame and cover the lid, let it set for 10 mins.
  7. Garnish with dry fruits of your choice (optional).
